About rooting

I wanna root my phone but my friends sat rooting may cause problems in your phone like i may not receive text anymore and so on so on how true is this?

can someone tell me the cons in rooting a phone?

Not receiving text after root is not true, but possibly can happen if there is firmware bug or bad written firmware.

Cons for rooting are:
- Some apps/games block root but can be bypassed using 3rd party apps
- Some apps/games with SafetyNet block rooted devices but can only bypass if using Magisk

Cons for unlocking bootloader are:
- DRM keys lost
- Camera not working without DRM keys
- Other features not working without DRM keys

Always research on the internet to see if rooting is useful or not. For me, I always check and research if there is DRM fix for my device or not before i unlock bootloader
