I didn't play the MP event it just crashes regardless ever since they added the Diary thing. I guess I'm making a throwaway fb account then?

I'm sorry this'll gonna be a whole ass essay. Please bear with me. If you already did everything—e.g. re-installing the game, clear data/cache or something along those—yet the crash still persists, you have to try playing with the vanilla version, change location in-game and save manually. And wdym by making a throwaway fb account? Are you telling me you haven't linked your game?
There's a meaning behind my words
"If you haven’t linked your account to fb, there’s little we can do." I would not say this BEFORE ver. 5.3.0. I'd simply say link your account to fb if you haven't already. It's because, since ver. 5.3.0, JC has fortified its fb log-in defence, any client besides the authorized one will only be met with a black screen if they try to log in. That's why we have to use a version before that (5.2.2) to log-in with our progress and then update right after. If you haven't linked AFTER ver. 5.3.0, then it's probably too late. However, it's possible to downgrade your game version by using ADB. You can look it up. In present day, to start from scratch means make a new game with the official app, play a bit until you can access the in-game Settings, link your account to fb and then you can uninstall the official version. Of course your work is not done here. To start using the modded apk, you still have to do the 5.2.2 ritual by then you can truly playing with the mods. Iirc, some says you can play directly with 5.2.2 for a bit and then link to fb so you don't have go through the official version as I've stated above. But, I think you can only do that on a clean slate device? Id rly know.
If you haven't linked, your game id is saved to your device instead, even if you clear the game data, re-installing the game, the game id will still be the same (given you're using the mods from here). But, if you have linked, after your clear the game data, it's akin to log out from your game. The modded client will generate a new game id. That's why if someone said they're banned, they want to start from scratch but they haven't linked to fb, we could only suggest the "Factory Reset" solution so the old data will not show up (that, if you still plan on using the modded apk from here).
