I have a possible fix if you are having troubles starting v0.36.1. First you must completely uninstall 36.1 and delete all of its content. Find and install 0.35.2 and play the game to the very end of that verison. Do not unistall 35.2 but install 36.1 and it should read *update* current game. Click done and start the game and you should be able to play 36.1 without needing Pateron... It's working for me right now...
