I never said it wasn't working; I was just notifying about this situation. Since some people might try the easy way of clearing the stage by instakilling the boss,

It says connection error, but seems to much of a coincidence only happens on certain boss battles, and only when a damage spell hits the boss.

This one is Lightning Card on both Stages' 30 and 35 boss, used a few seconds after combat started. You can test this too.

So far this seem to be triggering conditions:
>Battle starts as a duel you against the boss (no "warm up" phase)
>Boss dies from damaging spell card.
>This happens soon after battle starts.

Yes, it is some sort of protection. i don't know how to split pvp yet

Mostly bots but you can check by disabling internet while in pvp.
I highly not recommended to use mods in pvp though. Some modders would keep the mod not working in pvp to keep them self safe from ban. I will consider to make pvp working or not, while trying to figure out splitting

Nice, i really dont care about pvp but the problem is dailys,events and even campaign forces you to play pvp -.-
