Spotifuck v1.5.2 - Android Spotify Fake Web Player
Requirements: Android 5.0+, recent version of Android System WebView
Overview: Spotifuck is an app that allows you to open open.spotify.com, the free version of Spotify web player, on your phone as if it were a desktop. This is possible through a webview modified to look like a PC browser. It also has a simple built-in audio ad-blocker.
-How to use it?
The app can be used as an independent Spotify player, through the internal “CSS Hack UI” feature, which is enabled by default, which makes the player usable on mobile devices.
Keep in mind that this is still an adaptation of the web player, so it may be a bit jerky.
Alternatives are to use the Wide Window UI selectable in the options, or as in the past, to use the official Spotify app to control it.
At app first run you'll be redirected to the login page. Log in preferably using your email, press “Continue” ONLY ONCE, and wait for the OTP code to be sent to your email. Insert the code and wait for the player to load and apply css hacks (about 20~30 seconds). Select something to play from the library and press play, again ONLY ONCE. The playback of the first track may freeze on first boot and each time the service is restarted, but just wait and the internal Unlocker will skip to the next track, after which you can skip back to previous one.
-Known Bugs:
-If you can't log-in or get to the player, or the page starts refreshing, your ROM may be using an outdated WebView. You can try updating it from the Play Store here or updating the Chrome App depending on your ROM, then selecting it as the default provider in developer settings.
-If the play button remains disabled with the message “Spotify can't play this right now”, stop the service, wait a few seconds, then restart it.
-The media browser for Android Auto still works in a rudimentary way, reading data from the library when first launched and storing the content and indexes. Unfortunately, the library changes dynamically, so after a while the clicks may correspond to something else.
What's New:
-CSS hacks are now injected statically, moved outside of javascript functions, resulting in a faster loading and less glitchy player page
-Improved CSS for displaying tracklists, giving more space for titles and play buttons.
-Fixed issue of Library not always closing after clicking on an inner element
-Improved the internal ad-blocker, now it also block telemetry and visual ads (except for spotify premium banner)
-Fixed issue of many podcasts skipping cause they were wrongly recognized as ads
-Battery savings have been significantly improved, with all wakelocks released and JS polling code stopped when the player is paused.
-In addition, a sleep timeout has been added to the options, which can be set to stop the service after the player has been paused for the selected amount of time.
-Added an option to force the language of spotify web page to English. This could be useful, in conjunction with a VPN, for banned countries.
