it works for me now.

clear cache and data
opens the game (no need to confirm the “failed to log...” message) (screen 1)

open menu, check “Enable guest login” (screen 2)

save feature preferences” menu setting (screen 3)

closes the game (no need to clear cache and data)

open the game and now you can click on guest login (screen 4)
