Did you try to use lucky patcher on the one from the playstore?

Although it works on my device, you could also try to do what another user did.

They patched it using lucky patcher, but on an emulator first, then logged in on their phone and it worked.

With this specific file you might have to open lucky patcher and restore the APK as if you had installed it from lucky patcher in the past

GameGuardian (rooted) can help with upgrade hero/weapon lvl.
Search the card needed for upgrade then set to 0. But gold is a big problem.
Search this with Dword type, show only number >=1 and <=30000, then we'll have about 34 address. Edit all to 0.
