Thank you that sounds simple enough.. also, I haven't attempted it yet but how do I transfer my progress from this version to the play store version? Is it as simple as downloading the app and dragging the files?

You dont, all modded games that doesnt need root to play have significant drawback which is you cannot save your progress and transferred to your Google Play. You should known about this long time ago, if you wanted to save the progress, root your phone and find the rooted version, you can keep your progress in Google Play and play as usual.
