Nope. I've tried it. You need to pass almost all challenges to unlock sellable items in the shop. You need to somehow grind for a few hours in gaining exp to increase your digimon level. I rather suggest you better not open the digital world but rather focus in training your digimon stats. As I observe, the first time I entered a certain map in digital world I encountered Leader Digimon (especially Jesmon Red - as it has a unique color sprite appearance of red) to which I wasn't able to capture its data since I do not have the proper digimon with max defense stat (preferably Beelstarmon as it can do rapid attack) to do the digimon data farming. Later on, farming Jesmon red is a great pain in the ass after so many attempts to hunt it.
