Why should my mod do it? you may have other malicious apps installed.


It's not. This mod or the game does not have the root privileges to "change the password".

Show me 100% evidence that it is actually coming from this mod. Test with a clean phone or in the VM app with only this mod installed. No lying, no AI slop, no photoshopping, no manipulating evidence. Otherwise, none of this happened

If I had injected a virus into the APK file, this site would have been dead.

Honestly the game client you provide worked totally fine but for some reason I guess I assumed it was the app as Im still a bit of a rookie in the sense of modded apk files.. so sorry for my accusations, hearing from you personally makes me think youre being honest but I dont know how else this couldve happened.

I never heard anything like this and you are the only one having this problem

What phone model is that?
Is it rooted?
Is it tied to a specific wireless service provider ("carrier-locked" phone)?
Did you grant any app permission to accessibility?

S25 non rooted service provider is locked in atm yes and no I didnt grant anything other then what it needed to install

It's most likely related to your service provider doing something on your phone. Since I have never owned a carrier-locked phone, I asked an AI for more information about them. I'm glad I've never owned a carrier-locked phone!

Most likely: Samsung/carrier device management

• Carrier-locked Samsung phones often have Knox and carrier MDM profiles pre-installed
• Some carriers (especially in the US) push device management policies that can enforce or reset lock screen settings
• This is a known, documented behavior — it's not malicious, but it can be jarring

Also possible: Samsung account or Find My Mobile

• If the Samsung account had a security policy triggered, or if someone with account access used Find My Mobile to remotely lock the device, it would change/set a passcode

Less likely but possible: another app with Accessibility permissions

• An app with Device Administrator or Accessibility access can change the lock screen password on Android — this is a legitimate Android API (DevicePolicyManager.resetPassword)
• The user said they didn't grant accessibility, but it's worth auditing

Why it's almost certainly not the mod APK​

• A standard non-rooted APK does not have the permissions to call resetPassword unless it's been granted Device Administrator rights (which prompts a very obvious system dialog)
• No other user out of thousands reported this
• The mod author is right that if the APK were malicious at that level, the whole site would have been affected

The carrier-locked S25 + carrier MDM profile is the most probable culprit here.

I do have a secured work email signed into my phone and the chances of that MDM overwritting my passcode for security reasons would make sense to what happened. No problem at all.

Now this issue makes more sense.

I have worked with MDM on 4 different services for iPads and I did have the ability to reset or change the password, factory reset, lock the iPad as stolen and do everything else you can imagine on all iPads at the same time.
I also used to have a work email. When I tried to add it to my phone, it asked for remote access. I declined immediately and will never do this again. I used a web browser to check my emails instead.
