Why is this app creating tons of log files in the background after installing....also why is this app trying to make internet connections in the background...virus scan is showing malicious activity

Google Lens feature - uses Internet. (Almost any Android app connects to the internet) Solution - Disable internet access or rip this feature by removing it with an app called "Advanced Permission Manager Pro"

The Log files can be disabled in the Setiings of G-Cam.
