Help! How to change package name of an apk?

I've seen this done a few times by certain modders where they completely change the package name and apk name of their mod apk so that it can be installed alongside of the original one from the PlayStore.

Does anyone know how to do it? I tried using APKEditorPro's common edit, but it keeps giving me error parasing file when trying to install the apk.

It works only on few games, not all games sadly

What apk are you trying to clone?

用MT管理器
一.修改包名
1.复制包名→AndroidManifest.xml字符常量池→过滤→包名→修改
2.classes.dex→dex编辑器→类列表→长按更改包名
3.resources.arsc→编辑器→更改包名
二.修改名字
1.AndroidManifest.xml字符常量池→过滤→GameGuardian和Game更改
游戏改名
resources.arsc→编辑器→字符常量池→过滤→游戏名字

You'll have to edit androidmanifest, smalis and some other stuff in a decompiled apk.

You can also change the display name of the app, info is in the comments. I also noticed that sometimes you need to remove some content providers from the androidmanifest.
