You were most likely using it so blatantly that someone in the community saw you and reported you. The ban immunity is for automatic bans, but there is always a chance for manual banning.

Games like this where the game is virtually dead, are left with the elites of the elites. These people are so dedicated to the game, they become their support team. Everyone knows everyone, including alt accounts. So when they see someone they don't recognize being top in leaderboards, they start investigating.

This game is so dead that anyone who continues to play it is a fanatic, so outsiders are scrutinized to a higher degree.

How long have you been using without ban? I just started yesterday and bought the cheapest thing in the shop and am spending 2k gems/day. Is that prob the most or could I go more?

You can spend gems as much as you want. What you don't want is some 5+ year player finding you in the top 10 of any leaderboard or be outed in guilds. Those players are what get you manually banned. It's fine that you're cheating, but it's not if others find out.
