For those who lose progress. I use the non-rooted version, you can log in with kefir iD and it saves your progress. True, I have to delete and reinstall the game every time it updates. But at least the progress remains, all you have to do is log in to your kefir id, so you can log in to the official version, where you can also save the progress to google play.

Save your game folder from the game by going to your file manager and renaming it something else or just add a random number or alphabet to the folder, this let's you delete the game without losing your game progress. You're welcome.

It is fun with the mod, but it's hard to let it go considering how far I actually was.
I may just have to bite the bullet and do it but if at all possible I would love to retain progress.
Sadly as far as my research so far has gone, without a rooted device, it ain't gonna happen
