For me, I think there's a chance that you will get banned if you buy too much.

You get banned for using it, period. You will be stuck in the bottom tier and cannot join leagues, play against other actual players, and participate in a number of other portions of the game. You can still play against the in-game bots that they pretend to present as other players, though.
