There is no auto upgrade pokemon, there is auto star up pokemon that is unlocked when you reach level 60, but you do need to have the same pokemon cards to be able to auto star up

Changelog — Pokémon Star Cap 12★ → 30★​

Raised the Pokémon (card) star cap from 12 to 30, added new tiered star icons, retuned costs/effects, unlocked extreme star skills at 12★ (while starring can continue to 30), and improved shard convert / combine UX.

~Changes

• ~Higher star levels
• ~-Pokémon can now be raised up to 30 stars (previously 12)
• ~-New rewards and bonuses continue as you climb through the higher stars
• ~New star look
• ~-Stars use different icon styles as you go higher, so progress is easier to see at a glance
• ~Extreme skills
• ~-Extreme / limit skills unlock at 12 stars
• ~-You can keep raising stars after that, all the way to 30
• ~Easier shard conversion
• ~-New option: auto-fill shards needed for max star
• ~-Keeps the original option to fill only what’s needed for one synthesis
• ~-Options can’t be selected when you have no shards to convert
• ~Faster combining
• ~-Combine can turn all available shards into Pokémon in one go (limited by bag space)

✓Fixes

• ✓-Fixed errors that could appear when converting shards or checking star upgrades
• ✓-Fixed the Universal shard button incorrectly saying the star limit was reached at low stars

If you want unlimited resources, this is sadly not the server for you. This is a server that is designed to be something you grind for a long time, with resources to eventually get you to a team of 30-star Pokemon, Level 500, among other changes... but the dev himself said he wants this game to be something you can still enjoy decades later, and unlimited diamonds just kills the point of progression in a game like this.
