I think that in Android 7.0.0 onwards it doesn't work
I tried it on 2 different cell phones and it doesn't start

Tips for players:

1) Make sure to enable storage permission in the App settings before starting the app for the first time. If you don't enable this, the folder will not be created. If you didn't follow this step originally, reinstall the app and enable the storage permission before the first app startup.

2) Set the Damage multiplier to 1x if you are starting a new game. Having too damage will mess up the tutorial due to enemies getting killed prematurely.

I used it on cathedral too but no banned until now.
Maybe you setting the damage too high, mine just x2 to prevent the banned
