Question on gameplay: I can't unlock areas beyond the Guild HQ and the two initial areas. I'm at Rank 15. How do you unlock new areas? I'm baffled.

Speak to all the island residents. Also, develop the island, sometimes monster are occurring those spots, you need to click on those monsters to develop those places. When all of this is done, new quest opens, next final boss if that island is accessible, when you beat that you get map for the next island or area

So the ship upgrade work too? Mine can upgrade to lvl 3 ship but nothing happen with ship.

I haven't progressed that much into the game since I'm playing it at leisure. But I believe your ship should have changes soon. 2 days ago, when I played I had upgraded my ship and the interior f2 and f3 were expanded further. I don't remember about the cannons though
