Using max stage on tournament Is broken because probably your tournament max stage Is lower than your profile max stage
If I'm wrong give me more evidences to reproduce the issue

And yes if you join tournament you need to push to your Ms before you use instant max stage or else you get desynch and go back to starting stage.
