Tool Cheat Engine Advanced Tutorial: Tasty Travels

Platinian On Fire
Following my tutorial for Disney Magic Kingdoms, here's another cheat engine tutorial, this time for the game Tasty Travels.

TastyTravels0.jpg

The reason I've picked this game is because Tasty Travels is the perfect example of a game where, even if you can't directly change the main categories (Energy, Money and Gems), you can basically edit everything else, making it easier to get as many energy, money and/or gems.

This is an advanced tutorial, so I will assume that you know at least the basics of the Cheat Engine program. If you've never used it, there are lots of tutorials for beginners, so make sure to check them out first.

IMPORTANT: The first thing to do after starting Cheat Engine is to select the RIGHT PROCESS. The process will be different if you're using the PC version of the game (available from Windows Store) or if you're using an emulator (Memu, LDPlayer, Bluestacks and so on).

So, launch the game, start Cheat Engine and click on the 'open process' icon

Process00.jpg

Click on the 'processes' tab, then scroll down until you find the right process, then select it and click on the 'Open' button.
* If you're using LDPlayer 9, the process is Ld9BoxHeadless.exe

Process01.jpg

* If you're using MEMU, the process is MEmuHeadless.exe

Process02.jpg

PS: If you're using another emulator, don't hesitate to ask if you're not sure which process you must select

Just please note that in order to use this tutorial, you will need to be AT LEAST LEVEL 17 (which can be easily achieved after playing a couple hours) because the album and most side quests are only available at this level.
PS: The screenshots used in this tutorial are taken from the french version, but don't worry, it's exactly the same for the other versions :)

That's it. Make sure to read EVERYTHING and head to our first section: the ALBUM (available at level 17).

Section 1: The Album

TastyTravels17.jpg

Once you reach level 17, the album will be unlocked. This is one of the best way to get lots of rewards, including gems, but as you can guess it's not easy to get all cards (135 in the album above, but the number of cards can change from one album to another).

Getting all the cards is actually very easy once you know what you're looking for. In this tutorial, I will show you how to complete the first 2 albums, but don't worry if you already have these 2, you'll be able to get every albums the same way :)

Basically, you'll need to search for an ARRAY OF BYTES and that array of byte will be 44 characters long.
This is the array of bytes for the FIRST ALBUM:

FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF 0? 0? 00 00 ?? 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 10 C7 1E 12 FF 7F 00 00

Some explanations before going further:

The first 8 characters will ALWAYS be FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF
The characters 9 and 10 are either 00 00 (if you don't have the card) or 01 01 (if you have the card)
The characters 11 and 12 will ALWAYS be 00 00
The character 13 will indicate if you have 1 card or more (so it will be 01 if you have one card, 02 if you have 2 cards, 03 if you have 3 cards and so on)

Just to make sure that you understand so far, here are a couple examples for the first 13 characters:

FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF 00 00 00 00 00 : You don't have that card
FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF 01 01 00 00 01 : You have ONE EXEMPLAR of that card
FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF 01 01 00 00 05 : You have FIVE EXEMPLARS of that card

Now for the other characters:

The characters 14 to 36 will also be 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
The characters 37 to 42 will indentify which album you're working on (10 C7 1E 12 FF 7F = first album)

The characters 43 and 44 will ALWAYS be 00 00

So, open cheat engine, select ARRAY OF BYTES, PASTE the array above, then click on first scan

TastyTravels18.jpg

If everything goes well, the number of results should match the number of cards in the album. So select all results and copy them to the address list:

TastyTravels19.jpg

Select all results in the address list, right click and then select CHANGE RECORD -> VALUE

TastyTravels20.jpg

Change the array of bytes as shown below:

FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF 01 01 00 00 09 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 10 C7 1E 12 FF 7F 00 00

(If you've read above, you know that putting 01 01 for characters 9 and 10 means that you have the card and that 09 for character 13 means that you have 9 exemplars of that card, so putting this value will give you 9 EXEMPLARS OF ALL CARDS (You can of course put another value than 09, but no need to be greedy and no need to draw attention on you)

TastyTravels21.jpg

One last thing: in order to refresh the display, you will need to collect 1 card (doesn't matter which one) the 'normal way', so you can for example exchange some stars for a chest or complete ANY quest that gives you a card (again, it doesn't matter if you get a card that you already have, the only important thing is to get another card)

TastyTravels23.jpg

Once you get the extra card, watch the magic happens :)

TastyTravels24.jpg

TastyTravels25.jpg

TastyTravels26.jpg

Once you have collected all rewards, the album will be reset and you will either get the same album OR get the next album in the list.

If this is the same album, search for the same array of bytes:

FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF 0? 0? 00 00 0? 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 10 C7 1E 12 FF 7F 00 00

If this is the second album, search for this array of bytes instead:

FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF 0? 0? 00 00 0? 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 68 00 B9 10 FF 7F 00 00

I won't post the array of bytes for each album, but for any other album, the only characters that will change are characters 37 to 40, so if you search for this array, you shouldn't have any problem finding 'your' album:

FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF 0? 0? 00 00 0? 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ?? ?? ?? ?? FF 7F 00 00

That's it for the ALBUM. Our next section will be dedicated to the GARDEN (and similar items)

Section 2: The Garden (and similar items)

Once the album becomes available, another section will also become available: the GARDEN (and similar items like the natural parc). Just like the album, it is a very good way to gets lots of energy and interesting items.

unnamed.jpg

This one is VERY EASY to get because it's just a simple 4 bytes search

TastyTravels27.jpg

Open the Garden/Parc and check the number of tickets you have on the top left of the screen (8701 in this case), then make a 4 Bytes search for this value:

TastyTravels28.jpg

You will probably find lots of results the first one, especially if the value is low. So just get some more tickets or spend some to make the value change. In my case, I've bought the next item in the list and now have 8501 tickets:

TastyTravels29.jpg

So go back to cheat engine and make another search for the new value. Keep doing this until you have EXACTLY 520 RESULTS:

TastyTravels32.jpg

Select all 520 results, add them to the address list, then change the value to whatever you want, as long as it's below 100000 - no need to be greedy. You can do this as many times as you want, so there's really no need to draw attention on you by increasing it too much.

TastyTravels33.jpg

Go back to the game, buy another item to refresh the display and enjoy :)

TastyTravels34.jpg

Like I wrote above, you can do this as many times as you want, so no need to increase the number of tickets more than needed.

That's it for the Garden/Parc/etc. Our next section will be dedicated to Buildings and I will show you how to reduce the building costs (Gold but ALSO Materials required).

Section 3: Buildings costs and materials

Buildings are available right from the start of the game, but the first buildings are very cheap and don't require any extra materials, so they are easy to get. But when you advance in the game, they will cost more and more, and will also require extra materials so this is where this section becomes handy :)

v2-9808c93d7f80a29f7479f15629094eaf_1440w.jpg

If the building you want to upgrade only requires GOLD, then proceed like this. Click on the building you want to upgrade and note the amount of gold required (11000 in this case):

TastyTravels00.jpg

Go to cheat engine and convert the amount you're looking for (11000 in this case) to ARRAY OF BYTES:

TastyTravels01.jpg

TastyTravels02.jpg

Now that you have the result in array of bytes (F8 2A), and before going any further, take some time to understand the following:

The array of bytes you will be looking for buildings will also be something like this:

FF 7F 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 05 00 00 00 02 00 00 00 ?? ?? ?? 00 xx xx xx xx

The first 20 characters will always be the same (FF 7F 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 05 00 00 00 02 00 00 00)
The next 3 characters will vary, that's why they've been replaced with wildcards (?? ?? ??), followed by 00
Characters 25 to 28 ARE THE VALUE YOU'RE LOOKING FOR, so this is the ONLY THING YOU WILL NEED TO CHANGE
Let's go back to our example. We're looking for the value 11000. We know that this is F8 2A once converted to array of bytes and that we only need to change the last 4 characters in the array of bytes above, so the array we are looking for in this example will be:

FF 7F 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 05 00 00 00 02 00 00 00 ?? ?? ?? 00 F8 2A 00 00
So go back to Cheat Engine, make a search for Array of Bytes and paste the array above:
TastyTravels03.jpg

If everything goes well, you should only find 1 OR 2 RESULTS:

TastyTravels04.jpg

Then all you need to do is to change the last 4 characters of each result (F8 2A 00 00 in this case) and replace them with 01 00 00 00

TastyTravels06.jpg

Now go back to the game, click on the building you wanted to upgrade and the cost will now be 1, instead of 11000 :)

TastyTravels07.jpg

Proceed the same way for all buildings requiring GOLD ONLY.

If the buildings require GOLD AND MATERIALS, the search process will be basically the same, but there will be just one extra step.

Let's take this one for example. The building cost is 11500, but it also requires 2 chests of stones:

TastyTravels13.jpg

So convert 11500 to ARRAY OF BYTES

TastyTravels09.jpg

TastyTravels10.jpg

So now that we know that 11500 is EC 2C in Array Of Bytes, let's go back to our 'building' array:

FF 7F 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 05 00 00 00 02 00 00 00 ?? ?? ?? 00 xx xx xx xx

We replace the last 4 characters with the value we're looking for (EC 2C 00 00), so we will be looking for this array:

FF 7F 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 05 00 00 00 02 00 00 00 ?? ?? ?? 00 EC 2C 00 00
Again, you should only find 1 OR 2 RESULTS:

TastyTravels11.jpg

Instead of editing the results, right click on EACH RESULT and select 'BROWSE THIS MEMORY REGION'

TastyTravels12.jpg

You should see something like this::

TastyTravels14.jpg

Before doing anything, make sure to read this:

The first section (the last 4 characters of the results you've found) is the value you will need to change for GOLD.
Section 2 (32 characters above the gold) is the number of stone materials required (2 in our case)
Section 3 and 4 aren't relevant in this case but will be if a second and/or third material is required (32 characters above the stone materials for a second material, and then again 32 characters above this for a third material)

TastyTravels14b.jpg

So, now that you understand which one relates to what, edit the gold value (I always put 1 to avoid any errors) and then edit the stone material (replace the 02 with 00, this way it won't require any stone material). Once you've made the change, close the memory viewer:

TastyTravels15.jpg

Go back to the game, select the building and enjoy the magic :)

TastyTravels16.jpg

That's it. Proceed the same way for all buildings :)

In short: convert the value you're looking for in array of bytes and replace the last 4 characters in this array:

FF 7F 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 05 00 00 00 02 00 00 00 ?? ?? ?? 00 xx xx xx xx

If the building require also extra materials, remember to use the memory viewer to edit the addresses above the gold (32 characters - or 2 lines - above for the first material, again 2 lines above for the second material and then again 2 lines above for the third material.

That's it for this section. The next section will be dedicated to side/extra quests :)

Section 4: Extra Quests/Event Quests

There are lots of extra quests/event quests in the game. I'm not going to list them all - this would take forever - but they all have something in common: they are VERY EASY to edit with Cheat Engine :)

1753367310177.jpg

Let's take one example (it will basically be the same for ALL extra quests/event quests). In this quest, you must find the right order for the cards. You get a few tokens to start with and you get rewards each time you find the right order for the cards:

TastyTravels35.jpg

In this case, we have 50 tokens, so let's just a 4 bytes search for 50:

TastyTravels36.jpg

Of course, we will find lots of results at first, so let's just spend a few more tokens and make other searches until we come down to a few values only. In this particular case, there will be only 1 result but in other quests/events, there may be more than 1 result, so to avoid any issue make sure to take your time and refresh until you're sure that you've found all the addresses that need to be changed and only those :)

TastyTravels37.jpg

In this particular example, I managed to find the right address after only a few searches and ended up with only 1 result (which is always good because you're sure you have the right one):

TastyTravels38.jpg

So simply edit the value to whatever you want (again there's no need to put crazy values, so make it safe and don't draw attention on you). In this case, I put a value below 1000, which should be more than enough to get all rewards :)

TastyTravels39.jpg

Proceed the same way for all extra quests/event quests. And if it doesn't work for one particular quest, don't hesitate to ask me :)

Well, that's it. If you follow this tutorial, you should be able to complete all quests, upgrade all buildings at no costs and get enough rewards (energy, gold, gems) so that shouldn't have any problems in the game. Just remember that even if you can put the values you want, it's always advised to keep them rather low to avoid drawing unneeded attention on you :)
