They will ban if used in PVP. Stay away from PVP

as from bandai notification, they will ban also for PVE

They've given this statement several times over 2 yrs. It's nothing new. Just a scare tactic. If you use in PVP then you're banned. PVE won't get a ban. They'd have to check countless accounts and cross reference progress vs a multitude of data per account. They've also released this same BS with Dokkan, they're flagship game. Been on there for 3 years with no problems. Again, don't use mods in PVP and you'll be ok.
