I won't beg for updates, seeing as there's been warnings not to, but I do would like to ask if this version works and is able to be played like normal? I've been wanting to get back to this game

It works without update but i think you won't get any new features that come with update

Yeah, only 4.1 can give you HP.

Funny thing is that I've choosen by mistake first option. Snape took 10 points on my alt account, and it counted for an event... So I qualified to HP event previous time with 0 points.

Depends on whether or not you were randomly selected for A/B testing. If you're in group A, the game won't let you log in unless you're on the latest version. If you're in group B, you can play using whichever version you currently have installed. Game developers do this all the time in order to ensure that their entire userbase doesn't get fucked over by a fatal bug when they release an update.

Remember the Crowdstrike outage last year? That's what happens when you don't do A/B testing.

But even so, we're in the middle of a multiplayer event this week. Which, again, you need to read the FAQ before you go asking questions about it.

Wow, what a strange glitch! And here I've been happily attribute farming during the current House Pride by starting 8 hour classes and purposefully using gems to fail them after reaching 2 stars (always leads to a deduction of 2 house points).

Also, I need to share some celebratory news with you guys! Ever since I started replaying this game, this is the first ever time I managed to avoid the House Pride event, thanks to Taltos19's advance warning on Reddit. Good start to July!

Also, has anyone checked whether the rewards shown on Hogwarts Cafe walkthroughs correctly include house points that can be awarded or deducted? I know I'm supposed to use the spreadsheet, but it's very difficult to navigate on my phone and I don't always have the laptop handy.

Edit: Also omg, JC need to stop pushing so many updates! They went from 660 to 661 to 663 in the span of a few days?

If you only have mod to depend on, the best way to attributes farming is doing Study With a Friend (Y3C2) repeatedly instead of grinding those tedious classes. It's also a safe-to-do activity during HP event.

And we always tell people to follow the HPHM fandom either on discord or reddit. Since we're risked to being banned, knowing the events in advance will prevent us from unknowingly participating in MP events. Ofc, they sometimes throw us a suprise FM/HP without prior notice. Read the FAQ (we're constantly telling people to read) above on how to avoid those.

You can absolutely follow Hogwarts Cafe walkthroughs. Though, I personally don't use them for that. I like my walkthrough concise and to-the-point like the spreadsheet. It's just my preference alright, whatever fits your circumstances is the best.

You can stockpiled them (notebooks) from events such as Brilliant Bargains or Seasonal Token Store. BB is more convenient because we can use our gems hack there. Buying pages in bulk is also recommended since you can convert them to notebooks.
