It's best not to keep the "give item x99" cheat active all the time; just turn it on when you want to generate 99 units of crops, animal feed, or other consumables, and disable it once you have the items. Avoid using it on tools. I usually activate it while inside the house by moving an item from my bag to storage; once I have 99 of the item in storage, I turn the cheat off.
