My guess is that it's a server based calculation of damage, so manipulating that will just result in not matching data from client to server. Hence, the error.

All battles that depend on the server (such as Hydra battles) cannot be manipulated, since the damage calculation is done server-side. If attack and defense values are altered, the total calculation results in an error. In this case, the MOD must be disabled for these battles. (x1 atk x1 def x1 energy)
