There is a way to draw on top without using overlay permissions. In a specific case like Unity games, there is a static context object you can use to add views to the current window instead of creating a new one / overlaying it.

It works! Though, there seems to be a problem, when the 'allow display over apps' is enabled, my phone would be stuck/frozen except for my notification bar and the buttons at the bottom. And when I disable it, it goes back to normal.

I don't get it...i install it and at first it said it doesn't support my version of android bc it's a new one and it looks like a black screen but then someone in the comments gives a solution and it worked for me but then still the mod itself didn't work tho the app worked fine..so what should i do?
