I have figured out the problem as to why I couldn't log in to the site with my account information, and it indeed was an act of stupidity on my part. I didn't realize the special character "+" couldn't actually be entered into the game client, so I was assuming my password for the site contained a + the whole time when it didn't.

Edit, that was not actually the fix. But either way, registering with a password does not properly transition between game and site, so an account made ingame cannot use the same password, at least the way I've signed up.
