The dead walk one road. You hold the other end of it.
DEAD MILE is a zombie defense game played on a single lane. You do not drive your units. You spend Courage to drop them, they walk out on their own, and every decision is what to send and when to send it.
HOLD THE LINE
Courage builds while you wait and empties the moment you commit. Send a cheap brawler now, or hold for a shotgunner and hope the line survives the wait. The road is the whole battlefield and it only runs two ways.
SIX GO WITH YOU
Collect survivors and take six of them into each run. Brawlers up front, shooters behind, a corpsman keeping them standing. Level them, swap them, and learn which one answers which corpse.
EVERY DEAD THING HAS A COUNTER
Shamblers, sprinters, a rammer that charges, a broodsack that splits when it dies, a bulwark that soaks punishment and keeps walking. Find the counter once and the bestiary pays you for it.
SET THE ROAD BEFORE THEY COME
Wire, sandbags and traps go down before the wave arrives, and each one holds its spot for the whole run.
ONE LONG MILE AT A TIME
Every location is a single run with no checkpoints, and the house carries its damage from one wave into the next. Clear it with the house still standing for three stars, then upgrade the house for more hit points, more Courage and a higher level cap on your squad.
WHEN THE HOUSE FALLS
Once per run you get it back. The wave resumes exactly where it stopped and the house cannot be bitten for a few seconds. Once. After that the mile is over and you walk it again.
THEN FIGHT REAL PLAYERS
Take the same six into the arena against another survivor's squad. In one mode the fallen stay down. In the other they get back up, on both sides, and the lane never empties.
A tower defense game without towers, for anyone who likes a strategy game they can read at a glance. The campaign plays offline. No timers between runs.
